My rejected first draft of A Quiet Place, a non-stop thrill ride where monsters will get you unless you're smart enough to keep silent so they don't hear you. Which means my part was immediately cut.Scene: Outside family home
FATHER: (signing)
SON: (signing) Ok.
ME:
FATHER: (signing) Stop! Stop!
SON: "Oh no..." (monsters appear and eat the kid)
ME: (signing) Two kids left though, right?
Scene: In the basement
DAUGHTER: (signing) A hearing aid? For me?
FATHER: (signing) Because I love you. I've always loved--
ME: "Hey, what's this thing do?" (presses button; aid buzzes obnoxiously)
FATHER: "Stop that! What the hell is wrong with--"
DAUGHTER: (signing) Help! (monsters appear and eat the father)
ME: "Bummer."
Scene: Upstairs bathroom
MOTHER: (signing) Baby coming. Need to keep quiet.
ME: "Baby? Wait, you're pregnant?"
MOTHER: (signing) Didn't you notice?
ME: "You mean you don't always have varicose veins and an extremely hormonal temperament?"
MOTHER: (signs) Just...just help me here...
ME: "...Is it mine?"
MOTHER: (signing) It's been complicated between us, and I think we both need some space to...
ME: "Aaaah! Aaaaah! Monsters! Here monsters!"
ME: "Bitch."
Scene: Outside house
DAUGHTER: (signing) Where are my mother and other brother and new brother? Where is everyone?
ME: "Sorry, I don't speak sign language."
DAUGHTER: (signing) Yes you do! You've been using it all--
ME: "Aaah! Aaaaaah!"
ME: "Hey, wow! A weapon! We can use that to--"
DAUGHTER: (signing) Aaaah! (pounces and eats me)
ME: (nothing, because I'm dead)
DAUGHTER: (signing)
